Sedgwick County commissioners unanimously voted to withdraw 17 acres at Kellogg and Webb from an industrial district created for Beechcraft more than three decades ago so Costco can build a store there.

The land that Costco plans to acquire is on the northeast corner of Kellogg and Webb and is currently owned by Beechcraft, now part of Textron Aviation.

The request for removal from the industrial district was required by state statute.

Costco plans to build a store on the northeast corner of the property and a fuel station on the southwest corner of the property.

No one from the public spoke at the commission’s public hearing.
