A new poll by Rasmussen Reports shows Gov. Sam Brownback with a lead over his Democratic rival, House Minority Leader Paul Davis.
The survey of 750 likely voters released Monday showed Brownback with 47 percent, Davis with 40 percent.
Brownback held a strong advantage with male respondents while Davis led among female voters.
The poll also showed that Brownback is known to 99 percent of voters, while about a third of respondents said they’d never heard of Davis.
February and April polls taken by Public Policy Polling showed Davis with a slight lead of 2-4 points in the race.
Rasmussen is generally considered to be a Republican-leaning polling firm, while PPP is considered a Democratic firm.
Polling results so far in the race this year have been within the pollsters’ respective margins of error.
