The Kansas Lottery will begin selling Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets on Friday, nearly a month earlier than last year.

The early start will allow it to sell the tickets during the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, which opens Friday, in addition to its usual retail locations.

Only 175,000 Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets will be sold at $20 each. Tickets have sold out in each of the previous five years that the Lottery has sponsored the raffle.

In addition to the $1 million top prize, there will be more than 7,500 other prizes.

The Lottery is offering Early Bird drawings, giving players who purchase tickets early a chance to win $10,000 in each drawing. Two $10,000 winning numbers will be drawn in each of five Early Bird drawings to be held Oct. 12, 19 and 26, and Nov. 2 and 9.

The raffle also will award 5,000 $50 bonus cash prizes at the time of purchase of a raffle ticket. Each bonus cash ticket will have a special pig symbol on the ticket, and music will play when a bonus cash ticket is produced.

Except for the Early Bird winners and the $50 bonus cash prize winners, all winning tickets will be drawn Dec. 31. The drawing will select one $1,000,000 winner, 25 $5,000 winners, 25 $1,000 winners, and 2,500 $100 winners.
