Snow unlikely to stick around in Wichita

Comments (0)

Forecasters predict much of Kansas may see snow this morning, but little or no accumulation is expected in the Wichita area.

"We are going to get some snow," said Robb Lawson, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Wichita. "As far as amounts go... it looks like around an inch or so with the heavier stuff to the north."

Salina, Russell and Great Bend were expected to receive as much as 2 to 5 inches of wet snow.

Forecasters are predicting rain likely in Wichita until sunrise today, when it is expected to change over to snow. Today is expected to be cloudy with highs only in the upper 30s. Winds will be out of the north to northwest between 15 and 17 mph, gusting to 25 mph.
