The records: Lodging inspections of motels and hotels in Kansas, searchable by establishment or city or county.

Why you’d want them: To learn about problems at motels and hotels across the state. You may search by a specific establishment or search for all motels and hotels in a city or county.

Where you get them: The Kansas Department of Agriculture inspects motels and hotels. Go to http://agriculture.ks.gov/home. Click on the “Food Safety and Lodging” link under the “Divisions and Programs” menu at the top of the page and then click on the “Inspection Result” link. To search all motels and hotels in a city, select “Lodging” from the “Facility Type” drop-down menu, enter a city name and leave the other fields blank. To do so for a county, enter a county name and leave the other fields blank. To search the entire state, just select “Lodging” and leave all other fields blank. To search a specific motel or hotel, enter its name and city.
