By the numbers: Bill Self’s Hall of Fame coaching career

University of Kansas Jayhawks men’s basketball coach Bill Self has won 623 games in 24 seasons, the 2008 NCAA championship, reached the 2012 title game and has captured all of his 17 conference championships in his last 19 seasons. He was announced Saturday as a member of the 2017 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class.

Last remaining speaker of the Wichita language dies at 89

Doris Jean Lamar-McLemore was the last remaining person who could fluently speak the native language of the Wichita Indians. She died on Tuesday in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
