Several Wichita middle schools will have new leaders next year, district officials announced Wednesday.
Justin Kasel, an assistant principal at Truesdell Middle School, will be the new principal at Allison Traditional Magnet Elementary.
Officials announced earlier this week that Amy Champlin was leaving Allison to be the new principal at Robinson Middle School. She will replace Buddy Dooley, who retired.
Michael Archibeque, principal at Pleasant Valley Middle School, will leave his post for another position in the district that has not been officially announced, said spokeswoman Susan Arensman.
Replacing Archibeque at Pleasant Valley will be Victoria Manning, who has been an assistant principal at Mead Middle School since 2009.
Wendy Prater, an instructional support teacher at Levy Special Education Center, will become principal at Levy. She replaces Tamara Esposito, who is retiring.
Officials announced last month that Lura Atherly, principal at Blackbear Bosin Academy, will be principal at Jardine Middle School next year. Blackbear Bosin, an alternative middle school, will close and the program move to Jardine as a "school within a school."
Jardine's current principal, Dave Saunders, will be the new principal at Bryant Core Knowledge Magnet Elementary.
