JOHNNY JONESMedia room, press conference, locker room … and back to the media room. Hit OKC running and got a good 10 minutes with North Texas in their locker room talking to head coach Johnny Jones and a couple of players. Jones played in Final Four in 1981 as a guard for LSU then again as an assistant coach for the Tigers’ 1986 team. He told me that the Mean Green were allotted 300 tickets to tomorrow’s game and they scooped up another 250 more after the first batch sold out quick.
“The first ones sold out in a matter of hours,” Jones said. “We got more and they went quick, too.”
UNT point guard Josh White was almost reverent when talking about K-State’s Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente. From one guard to another, that’s called love.
“I’m excited to go against those guys,” White said. “They’re great guards. To get that opportunity is kind of the whole reason you play … to face them on this stage …”
Never miss a local story.
You get the point. Big topic of discussion in media room is Prez Obama’s NCAA picks. And Pat Forde can’t hook up to the wireless network at the Ford Center. Should I help him? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.
