Bill Snyder has always been a fan of bye weeks.
The Kansas State football coach worked with athletic director John Currie to get one added to the schedule this season, and now that it's here he says it couldn't have worked out any better.
Not only does it come at a time that gives him and his players extra time to prepare for Nebraska and the rest of Big 12 play, it falls before back-to-back Thursday games. K-State will have a shorter break in action, and a standard week to prepare for a rivalry game at Kansas.
"Having that open date, sometimes two weeks is too much," Snyder said. "It's easy to get out of a routine. If you have a briefer period of time, a little more than what you normally have, hopefully it fits the bill and is better for us. (more…)
