WICHITA — Things are getting Pretty Reckless in Delano, and that's just what Bungalow 26 owner Kelsey Metzinger wants.
She has a home, bath and body boutique at 611 W. Douglas.
"Jewelry is the missing piece," Metzinger says.
So Melissa King is going to open a boutique called Pretty Reckless within Metzinger's store to sell jewelry, scarves and clutches.
"I kind of like the funky, trendier stuff . . . which is where the reckless part comes in," King says.
She'll also have more traditional pieces that fit all ages, which is where the pretty part comes in.
King has been a stay-at-home mom, and she also worked at the former Harold's in Bradley Fair for almost four years.
She and Metzinger have been talking about her opening a boutique for more than a year.
Eventually, King may add handbags as well, and this winter she might sell "some fun hats and gloves."
Metzinger says she'd be excited about Pretty Reckless coming to Delano even if it weren't in her space.
"Delano is just hopping," she says.
Lots of people are lamenting the economy, but in Delano, Metzinger says, "It's really starting to come together."
