Wichita experienced its warmest October in nearly 50 years, according to the National Weather Service.
The average monthly temperature in Wichita for October was 62.3 degrees, which was 3.7 degrees above normal. Wichita hasn’t had an October with a higher average temperature since 1963, when the average temperature was 67.7 degrees.
While this was an unusually warm October, it falls well short of the Top 10 for for warmest Octobers in Wichita, records show. The average temperature would have had to reach 64 to make that list.
