Stephene Moore is not going to let the Democrats lose the 3rd Congressional District without a fight, but the seat left open by the retirement of her husband, Dennis Moore, has landed it among the Rothenberg Political Report's "Dangerous Dozen Open House Seats." The Washington, D.C., website declared: "This is a bad time for an open seat in Kansas (where the two statewide races will be blowouts for the GOP), and Republican state Rep. Kevin Yoder is a clear favorite." The respected Cook Political Report put it this way: "Democrats will try to contrast Moore's life story as a health care provider and community activist against Yoder's ambition and flip-flopping, but Republicans will work hard to tie Moore to her husband's party line votes. Republicans say Yoder has already passed his toughest test by winning the primary, robbing Democrats of their best hope of capturing the district's middle-of-the-road voters. Today, we give Yoder a slight edge."
