It’s moving day at Airbus North America Engineering. Thirty engineers at the facility in Old Town are packing up to move into the company’s new space across the parking lot.
The move will take place Friday.
Old Town developer Dave Burk bought the building at 238 N. Mead, the former Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, in February and leased it to Airbus. He also spent about $1 million to renovate the building.
“It’s completely done –ready to go,” said Bill Greer, Airbus vice president. And it is on schedule.
By 2012, about 100 people will work at the new 26,000 square-foot site as the work load grows, officials say.
