Sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s are in the forecast for the Wichita area today, forecasters say, but another round of robust winds will make things feel cooler.
Those northerly winds will blow steadily in the teens, with gusts topping 25 mph. The winds will ease tonight and shift to the east, staying in the teens as lows dip to around 50 under clear skies.
Thursday will be notably warmer, forecasters say, with highs in the mid-80s and southerly winds gusting beyond 30 mph. Scattered thunderstorms are possible in the metropolitan area – and strong storms are being forecast for northern and northeastern sectors of the state.
