The first Monday in May will be a pleasant one for the Wichita area, forecasters say.
Sunny skies, highs in the mid-70s and light winds out of the north are expected in the metropolitan area. Winds should stay in the single digits – a rarity so far this spring.
The line of showers that whipped through the region late Sunday night delivered .10 of rain to the National Weather Service’s Wichita branch next to Mid-Continent Airport. The next chance of rain looks to come Thursday.
Skies should be mostly clear overnight, with lows in the low 50s. More sunshine can be expected Tuesday, with highs in the mid-80s.
