No major updates or interesting blog items today. It’s 3:30 and the bases haven’t been put on the field yet, so you know everybody’s kind of dragging today. Not me, though. I got a quick nap in before I came to the yard, talked to Sioux Falls manager Steve Shirley for a notebook item and now I’m ready for some baseball. If only there were bases.
And I’ll go down this road again…I’m ready for baseball if only there were baseball today. Seven-inning games are NOT baseball. Sure, it highly resembles baseball, but it’s more like T-ball or softball or something. In addition to only playing seven innings, are the players out after two foul balls, too? Do they all start on a 1-1 count.
But longtime readers know my stance on seven-inning games. Well, they probably don’t, because why would they care? Now I’m officially on record as not liking it at all. New and old readers can be on the same page with that one.
I’ll have short recaps of both games up on the blog after each is completed. If you want to follow along with the games as they’re happening, head on over to my Twitter account, because I’ll be live-Tweeting all 18 innings. Oops….14 innings. Talk to you tonight!
