Boeing said this week that a Boeing win on the U.S. Air Force refueling tanker contract would mean 11,000 jobs and $700 million in annual economic impact to the state of Washington.
"The time is now to provide the next generation of aerial refueling tankers for the U.S. Air Force, the time is now to support the U.S economy and jobs — and the Boeing team is ready now to win this contract and build these aircraft," Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire said in a statement.
Boeing previously said a tanker win would mean 7,500 jobs for Kansas.
Boeing is bidding on the contract against EADS.
