God can intervene in a contest between Boeing and Northrop Grumman for a lucrative aerial refueling contract, a woman told the Mobile, Ala., City Council this week.
The woman asked the council to start a weekly prayer meeting in the atrium of the city’s Government Plaza, according to the Press-Register.
“If you do this, you will be awarded the tanker contract you so diligently seek,” she told them, the report said.
If Northrop Grumman wins the contract using Airbus aircraft, the planes would be assembled in Mobile, a move that would create 1,500 jobs there.
However, if the city doesn’t host the prayer meetings, “The water in the rivers will come up and flood the city,” she said.
