Did anyone see this coming? Anyone? Even if you were a Heights’ optimist, you had to be hoping to just make this a game against a Northwest team that had to have been upset with the loss last week to Carroll. Well, this wasn’t a game. And not in the way anyone could have thought.
To be honest, Heights pieced together about the most dominant half of football it could have ever wanted. They scored their first four drives. They picked up 19 first downs. They totaled 300 offensive yards. They didn’t have any turnovers – that in itself might be the biggest victory considering the first two games of the season. Oh yeah, and Northwest’s offense could only muster one first down in the first 21 minutes of the game.
No doubts about it, Heights was the better team on Friday night. Northwest didn’t beat itself. Heights did. Click the jump to read how. (more…)
