Cessna Aircraft Co. announced that it has received Russian type certification for its six-place entry-level business jet, the Citation Mustang. The certification opens the way for deliveries into that country.
In 2008, Cessna received a fleet order for Mustangs from a Russian operator.
The Mustang is assembled at Cessna’s facility in Independence. It is now certified in 60 countries, including in the U.S.
At the same time, Cessna announced that it has reached an agreement with Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation in Russia for 12 new Cessna 172 aircraft to be used for flight training.
The order is the first government fleet sale in Russia, Cessna said.
The announcements came from the Jet Expo business aviation show in Moscow.
