End of Day 1 recap – Here’s what I know after 12 hours of being at Cessna: it was a long day. But I’m sure you’re not worried about that, so I will break down what to make of Day 1 of the State meet for Classes 4A-6A.
Doris Jean Lamar-McLemore was the last remaining person who could fluently speak the native language of the Wichita Indians. She died on Tuesday in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Lamar-McLemore worked to preserve the language in the latter years of her life by writing it down and recording it. (File video by Travis Heying/The Wichita Eagle)
