Entrepreneurship educators at Wichita State University talk a lot about incentives.
Now they are offering one.
WSU’s Shocker New Venture Competition, hosted by the university’s Center for Entrepreneurship, is creating a competition challenging Kansas college students to come up with business ideas, and commercialize them.
Teams with one to five members will be judged on their ideas and their development of business concepts, market analysis and other criteria.
Winners will get business start-up money drawn from a pool of $30,000, the university said in a prepared statement.
Sixteen teams taking part will pitch their ideas to more than 200 business leaders, in a trade show at Koch Arena on April 24, the university said.
