Moundridge schools are closed Wednesday because of a boil water advisory, according to the district’s Facebook page.
All middle school and high school team practices scheduled for Wednesday will take place at the discretion of each coach, the post said.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday issued a boil advisory for the public water supply in Moundridge, according to a news release.
A line break in the water system that led to a loss of pressure, which could lead to a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination, the release said.
Residents are encouraged to boil water for at least one minute prior to consumption or use bottled water, the release said. The advisory will remain in effect until further notice by the state health department.
