The crime

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office needs help solving copper wire thefts occurring in the northwest part of Sedgwick County. In January and February, several farm irrigation systems between the 15700 block and 16000 blocks of West 101st Street North were stripped of copper wire. Approximately 1,400 feet of copper wire valued at more than $8,000 was taken and more than $4,000 in damage was done to the irrigation systems.

In the same time frame, 96 Agri Sales, at 10400 N. 247th St. West, had a spool of copper wire valued at $1,700 stolen.
