A 42-year-old homeless man suffered minor cuts and scratches to his face when he was attacked while sleeping outside near Hydraulic and I-135 early Friday morning. His three attackers got away with the man’s black vinyl backpack, some clothing and possibly a cellphone, Wichita police Lt. Joe Schroeder said.
The man told police he was lying on the ground asleep in the 1800 block of East Murdock when three men approached and punching and kicked him about 3 a.m., Schroeder said. They stole his property and fled.
The man was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis with minor injuries. He did not know his attackers, Schroeder said.
