A 33-year-old man is in jail and a 38-year-old is recovering from multiple gunshot wounds in a Wichita hospital following a shooting in Arkansas City early Sunday that involved investigations by several area law enforcement agencies. Both suspect and victim are from Arkansas City.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., Arkansas City police responded to a report of a fight at 425 N. Seventh in Arkansas City. Upon arrival police discovered the 38-year-old, whom they identified as Robert Lolar, had been shot multiple times.
The suspect, Aaron Robert Brown, 33, was found later Sunday by Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers in Edmond, Okla., along with a handgun thought to have been used in the shooting, according to a news release issued by the Arkansas City Police Department. According to the release, Brown had left the scene of the shooting in a black 2010 Ford F150 with Kansas license plate 413 GDB and a front vanity tag reading “Big A.”
Lolar underwent surgery and is expected to recover, according to the news release.
