Police officers issued 11 citations to motorists who ran red lights in just two hours at a busy west Wichita intersection Tuesday, authorities said.
The special enforcement went from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Central and Ridge Road, Lt. James Espinoza said.
“This is one of the higher accident locations in Patrol West Bureau,” Espinoza said.
Special traffic enforcement efforts such as the one Tuesday “occur several times a month,” he said.
“It’s a way to focus on areas that have a high accident rate,” Espinoza said.
