There was no mystery about the intent of the man who walked into the Parklane Pharmacy in south Wichita on Tuesday afternoon.

He was carrying a gun, had a bandanna over his face and brought his own bags for his anticipated haul, police said. The suspect pointed a gun at a clerk and demanded prescription medication, Lt. James Espinoza said.

Once he had that pain medication, he also demanded cash from the register. He left the business at 1530 S. Oliver with an undisclosed amount, Espinoza said.

The clerk told police the robber is a white man in his 30s who is about 6-feet-1 with a medium build. He wore olive green coveralls, a black ball cap along with the bandanna.

Investigators would like anyone with information about the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tips can also be submitted online at or from a mobile phone by texting TIP217 then the message to CRIMES (274637). All ways are secure and anonymous.
