Robbers used a hammer and zip ties to subdue and restrain a resident before stealing several items from his house Sunday morning, police said.

The 46-year-old victim went next door to report the robbery at 7:10 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of North Sheridan, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. That’s near Central and Zoo Boulevard.

He was asleep on his couch when two men entered his apartment, he said. One man had a gun and the other hit him several times on the leg as he lay on the couch, the victim told police. They secured him with zip ties and then stole several pieces of property, including a computer and at least two televisions, Espinoza said.

The victim refused medical treatment.
