A 52-year-old man is in a local hospital after being stabbed several times in southwest Wichita early Monday morning, police said.

Officers responding to a 911 call at about 3 a.m. Monday in the 1800 block of South Bonn found a man who had been stabbed numerous times, Lt. James Espinoza said. The incident occurred northwest of Meridian and May.

The victim wasn’t willing to cooperate with police, Espinoza said, but a witness gave officers a description of the suspect in the case and he was found not far from the house where the stabbing occurred.

“At this time, it’s still undetermined what caused the disturbance,” Espinoza said.

The 21-year-old man was booked into jail following questioning. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of wounds that are not considered serious, Espinoza said.
