Taxi driver robbed near 16th and Broadway

A Wichita taxi cab driver was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday morning near 16th and Broadway while he was trying to pick up a fare, police said.

The 63-year-old driver was looking for the exact address when a man armed with a handgun got into his cab, Lt. James Espinoza said. The suspect took the driver’s money and fled on foot toward the east, he added.
