An early morning stroll didn’t turn out well for a couple of women early Monday morning, police said.

The women, ages 36 and 51, decided to go get something to eat at about 1 a.m. Monday and were walking on Broadway, Capt. Dan East said. At some point, however, they changed their mind and were returning home when the older woman spotted someone she knew in an alley off the 900 block of North Market.

They stopped to talk to the 50-year-old woman and the 16-year-old boy who was with her, East said. At some point in the discussion, money was taken from the 36-year-old woman by force, he said.

Police know the name of the adult suspect in the case and are looking for her, East said.
