Two men were robbed and later beaten when they went to south Wichita to buy marijuana early Tuesday morning, police said.
The victims, both 21, met two 19-year-old men at about 2:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of East Lincoln, Lt. Dan East said. The two younger men took money from the victims and then took off running.
The victims chased after the suspects but could not catch them, East said. They returned to their car, where they were confronted by two other men.
The victims were hit and kicked by the two men who confronted them, East said. One of the victims suffered minor injuries, but the other was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Joseph for treatment of a head injury. He was later transferred to the St. Francis campus, East said.
The victims gave few details in describing the suspects in the case. East said he did not know how much money was stolen in the incident.
