Three people burglarized the EZ Stop Smoke Shop in west Wichita early Wednesday morning, police said.
Officers responding to a burglar alarm at about 3 a.m. discovered the front door of the business at 1726 W. McCormick had been forced open, Lt. Dan East said. That’s south of Kellogg and west of Seneca near Friends University.
The burglars had already fled when officers arrived, East said. An investigation revealed they took several cartons of cigarettes and e-cigarettes.
Surveillance video from the store revealed that two men and a woman were involved, East said. All of the suspects are white.
The first man is 40 to 45 years old, 6 feet to 6-foot-2 in height and about 200 pounds. He has a large build and was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, light-colored baseball hat and gloves.
The second man is 20 to 25, 5-foot-6 to 5-8 and 160 pounds. He has tattoos on his left arm, East said. He was wearing a dark T-shirt, unknown color pants and a dark hat.
The woman is about 20 years old, 5-5 and 120 to 130 pounds. She had shoulder-length dark hair and wore a sun visor.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call detectives at 316-268-4407 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. Tips can also be submitted at www.wichitacrimestoppers.com or by texting TIP217, then the message, to CRIMES (274637).
