Authorities are still looking for an armed man who robbed a Fidelity Bank branch in west Wichita on Wednesday morning.

The man walked into the branch at 9300 W. Central – west of Tyler Road – shortly after 10:40 a.m. Wednesday and displayed a handgun tucked into the waistband of his pants, Lt. Dan East said.

He approached a teller and demanded “all the cash from the cash drawers,” a police document said.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and walked northwest from the bank, East said. Wichita police have released photos of the suspect taken from surveillance camera footage.

The robber is a white man between 35 and 46, East said. He is 6 feet tall with a medium build and has a mustache. He wore a white T-shirt, blue jeans, a black jacket and a backpack under his jacket. He also wore a red or orange baseball hat and sunglasses.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call detectives at 316-268-4177 or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111. You can also submit a tip online at www.WichitaCrimeStoppers.com or from your mobile phone by texting TIP217 then your message to CRIMES (274637).
