Hoping someone recognizes him, Wichita police have released security camera photos of the man who they say robbed a Subway restaurant last week.
The Subway at 615 E. 47th St. South was robbed shortly before 10 p.m. on Jan. 30, police have said. The robber is a man with “very blue eyes,” according to the store clerk.
The man came into the store and went into the bathroom, waiting until the other customers left, police have said. He then approached the clerk, demanding money and indicating he had a weapon.
She complied with his demand, and the man left in a white van being driven by a second person. It’s one of at least three Subway robberies in a matter of days in which a white van was reported leaving the parking lot following the incident.
The latest robbery at a Subway occurred at 3:40 p.m. Monday at a store at 2533 S. Seneca, when a man demanded cash from a 20-year-old clerk before leaving in what was believed to be a Chrysler minivan. Police said that robber was wearing blue jeans, a yellow shirt, and a black stocking cap, and had a lot of freckles on his face.
Anyone with information about the hold-ups can call the robbery section at 316-268-4177. Tips can also be called anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
