An armed man wearing a camouflage face mask robbed a Dollar General store in east Wichita over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
The suspect entered the store at 1918 E. 13th St. shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday, displayed a gun and demanded money, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The store is a few blocks east of I-135 on 13th.
The suspect was a black male in his late 30s to 40s who is about 5-feet-8 with a thin build, a witness told police. The camouflage mask he wore was green, the witness said.
It was the latest in a series of robberies this month in which the suspect wore a camouflage face mask.
Before this weekend, when robberies of a fast-food restaurant and the Dollar General involved suspects in camouflage face masks, police officials reported as many as five robberies possibly being related since the first of the year.
