The southern part of Sedgwick County has seen a rash of burglaries over the past two months, and the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a person of interest in the cases.
The sheriff’s office released two photos showing a black man wearing a leather jacket, prescription glasses and a baseball hat. He may also have an earring in his left ear.
There have been 22 burglaries in southern Sedgwick County over the past 30 days, 11 in the past two weeks – and five on Tuesday alone, Capt. Greg Pollock said.
Among the houses burglarized is the one seen in the photos and video, he said.
“We’re just trying to get people to be aware” and report any suspicious activity, Pollock said.
Anyone with information about these burglaries is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s investigations section at 316-660-5300 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Anonymous tips may be made to Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111; by text message from any cellphone by calling CRIMES (264637), then entering TIP217 followed by the message; or via the Crime Stoppers website at sedgwickcountycrimestoppers.com.
