A third person has been arrested in an investigation involving an Oct. 5 gang-related shooting, Wichita police said on Wednesday.
Jamasia Dear, 18, was arrested in connection with the killing of Debrylan Bell, who was shot to death outside the Woodgate apartments Oct. 5, Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said.
Police presented their facts in regard to the third arrest on Wednesday afternoon to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
Zah’Kavia Qauatia Beans, 18, was arrested Oct. 8; and a boy, 17, was arrested Oct. 7 in connection with Bell’s death. The 17-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder, according to Dan Dillon, spokesman in the DA’s office.
Bell was found in the parking lot of the Woodgate apartment complex in the 5400 block of East 21st Street, between Oliver and Woodlawn. He had been shot multiple times.
In an Oct. 5 police briefing after Bell’s death, Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile said 20 to 30 rounds were fired at the car.
