Police on Friday voiced concern about an armed robbery in which a 19-year-old woman said she was fondled in her home.
The woman told police the robbery occurred at her home in the 1900 block of South Woodlawn about 4 p.m. Thursday.
According to a police report, the woman said that four suspects forced her into her residence at gunpoint.
One of the robbers held her facedown on a couch and fondled her while the other robbers searched the home and took several thousand dollars in cash and property, police said.
"Obviously, this is a concern," police Lt. Doug Nolte said.
There is no indication the crime is gang-related, Nolte said.
He gave a description of a vehicle seen shortly before the robbery that could have been used by the robbers. It was described as an older, "box-style" Chevy Suburban.
He gave these descriptions of three of the suspects, all black men in their 20s: One was 5 feet 5, 135 pounds and wore a green T-shirt and bright green Kansas City Royals hat; a second was 6 feet 2, 150 pounds and wore a tan T-shirt and tan Kansas City Royals hat; and a third was 5 feet 9 and had a ponytail and "unkept" hair.
Police asked that anyone with information about the robbery call 911 or Crime Stoppers, 316-267-2111.
