WICHITA — A Wichita man will be honored by police Friday for his actions during the May 12, 2008, murder of businessman James Collins.
Police said Jeremy Linot was in the 500 block of South St. Francis when Collins, who had been shot, fell from a black Hummer.
Linot ran to help Collins and was trying to pull him to safety, police said, when the Hummer made a U-turn and tried to run the men down. Linot barely made it to safety as the Hummer ran over Collins.
Homicide Lt. Ken Landwehr said Linot "put himself at great risk to attempt to save Mr. Collins."

Shannon Bogguess and Kedrin Littlejohn were both convicted of first-degree murder in the case.
