Wichita Park and Recreation has launched a new program to bring children’s activities to downtown each Saturday through May.
Buddy’s Recreation Station, a mobile van, will be at Naftzger Park, Douglas and St. Francis, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays with different activities from jump rope contests to obstacle courses.
Prizes will be awarded and food trucks will also be available. Planned activities include:
▪ April 18: Jump rope contest

▪ April 25: Guess Who tournament
▪ May 2: Hula Hoop contest
▪ May 9: Checkers tournament
▪ May 16: Gunny sack races
▪ May 23: Timed obstacle course
Feedback from the event will help determine future destinations for Buddy’s Recreation Station, according to a news release.
