A man has been hospitalized after he was shot by a pawn shop employee Saturday afternoon in south Wichita, police said.
The man entered Mister Pawn at 2339 S. Oliver, near Pawnee, at about 1 p.m. and asked to look at a gun, Officer Paul Cruz said.
When the employee handed a gun to the man, the man tried to strike the employee with it. He then tries to run off.
The pawn shop employee fired a shot at the man, striking him in the left arm, Cruz said. The man kept running, though he was later found by police.
The pawn shop employee was not arrested for his actions, Cruz said.
