Red Cross officials were called out Wednesday morning after an apartment fire in east Wichita, according to a fire department official.
Stuart Bevis, a battalion chief with the Wichita Fire Department, said the Red Cross was called out to assist with at least one family after a fire at the Buttonwood Tree Apartments, 9211 E. Harry.
No injuries had been reported as a result of the fire as of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The call went out at around 6 a.m.
Wichita police had part of Harry west of Harry and Webb blocked off early this morning. At least one apartment was damaged in the blaze, Bevis said. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
