A 59-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in serious condition after losing control of his vehicle on Kellogg, Wichita police said Tuesday.
The accident, in the westbound lanes of Kellogg near Woodlawn, occurred at about 4:30 p.m. Monday after an archery target came loose from the bed of another vehicle and became lodged underneath the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist lost control of the bike and struck a retaining wall, Officer Charley Davidson, a Wichita Police Department spokesman, said Tuesday.
No update on the motorcyclist’s condition was immediately available Tuesday.

The driver of the vehicle that the archery target fell from has been contacted, Davidson said. No citations have been issued.
