Wichita police are investigating a shooting that has left two people dead, according to a police spokesman.
Shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday, police officers were sent to a report of a shooting in the 900 block of North Glendale, according to Sgt. Brian Goward of the Wichita Police Department.
Officers entered the residence and found two people who were apparently the victims of gunshots.
“There was a female in her 20s and a male in his 20s,” Goward said. “We are still investigating, but we do believe the male half has a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”
The relationship between the two is also being investigated.
Police have blocked off Glendale between Eighth and Ninth streets with crime scene tape and police vehicles.
A Sedgwick County 911 dispatcher said a 911 call was placed shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday.
Goward said dispatch received a call from a relative of one of the victims.
On Sunday, Goward said police were still uncertain as to what time the shootings happened.
