Wednesday will be relatively uneventful weatherwise, according to Chris Jakub, a meteoroloigst with the National Weather Service, but Thursday could be a different story.
“It will get active in the afternoon, quite a few storms will be out there,” Jakub said. “There is potential for very large hail and damaging winds and we could see some strong tornadoes as well.”
Wednesday might see a few showers, he said, and then it should get quiet Wednesday night before the storms start again Thursday afternoon.
On Tuesday, one person was injured and several homes leveled by damaging tornadoes in the area of Pawnee Rock in central Kansas.
Jakub said the weather service is still inspecting the tornado sites and expects to release information on how many tornadoes landed on Tuesday and what the damage was.
