A 6-month-old boy was taken to the hospital with a fractured skull Friday night in a case that is being investigated by the Exploited and Missing Child Unit, police say.

The infant was with a baby sitter in the 1000 block of South Pineridge during the evening, and when the parents came home, they noticed an injury on the baby’s head, police Sgt. John Hoofer said Saturday. The baby was taken to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis, where he was diagnosed with a fractured skull and was in very serious condition, Hoofer said.
