Men push way into southeast Wichita residence, shoot woman

Wichita police are investigating an aggravated battery and shooting that happened late Saturday night in southeast Wichita.

The shooting happened at 10:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of S. Eastern, northeast of Harry and Rock Road.

A witness to the shooting told police that three men were involved in the incident, but two men pushed their way into a residence and one shot a 25-year-old woman, according to Sgt. Ed Brower, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The men then left in a silver 4-door car.

The woman was transported to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition.
