Six Wichita groups and organizations are joining forces to rethink and redefine Wichita’s brand.

They are looking for input on ways to promote Wichita to visitors, potential businesses, students and residents.

The six are: Go Wichita Convention and Visitors Bureau, Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition, Wichita Downtown Development Corp., Wichita Community Foundation and Wichita State University.

“This effort is not about a new logo or slogan for the city,” Go Wichita president and CEO Susie Santosaid in a prepared media release issued by Go Wichita on Thursday. “It is about developing a comprehensive community wide strategy on how the city is going to tell our story going forward ... This will create a unified message about what makes Wichita unique and distinctive.”

The community is invited to voice their opinions at one of two workshops. The workshops will be Sept. 2 and 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Wichita Scottish Rite Center, 332 E. First St.
